Numerical Analysis of Liquid–Liquid Heat Pipe Heat Exchanger Based on a Novel Model

Heat pipe heat exchangers (HPHEXs) are widely used in various industries. In this paper, a novel model of liquid–liquid exchanger countercurrent manner is established by considering the evaporation and condensation thermal resistances inside pipes (HPs). The discrete method added to HPHEX determine HPs temperature change trend transfer fluid HPHEX. verified structure experimental data existing literature demonstrates numerical results that agree with within 5% error. With current model, investigation compares effectiveness minimum vapor three types HP diameters, different mass flow rates, H* values. For diameter 36 mm, each improved about 0.018 0.029 compared 28 mm. show can predict well; addition, effects structures on obtained, which improve performance
